Editing of an image on Photoshop

This is the original picture with no edits on Photoshop.

The Image was cut out from the background using the Magnetic Lasso Tool and then dragged onto another blank file so it could
be edited.

There were still some areas of the background which were visible in-between the two band members so I used the Magic Wand Tool and the Eraser Tool to make sure that the background was no longer visible.

I then used the Spot Healing Brush Tool to cover and blemish’s and then I used the Dodge Tool to whiten the pupils of the band members eyes and whiten the ear ring in the picture as well.

I added a large black rectangle using the Rectangle Tool and made Layer 1 ( the picture) appear above it. I did this so it would appear as though the picture was on a black background. However after doing this I realised that the picture was rather dark.

As I believed that the picture was rather dark and appeared to be very orange, due to the lighting, I decided to convert the picture to black and white using the Convert to Black and White Tool which is in the drop down menu for the Enhancement of colours in an image. This was the final image I chose for my front cover.
